The 2nd Annual Hyland Games features outdoor field and carnival style games, prizes, raffles, live music, food trucks and plenty of family fun!

In the spirit of traditional Scottish Highland Games, our “Hyland” games provide a unique combination of Hyla Middle Schools’ culture of sportsmanship, honorable competition, community involvement and old- fashioned enjoyments. We invite the surrounding community of all ages to join us for a festive day featuring some of Hyla’s most beloved traditions.

A Scottish bagpiper will open the games and there will be a live band performance throughout the event.

Field Games:
At Hyla sportsmanship matters. We emphasize the spirit of the game with a focus on personal integrity, fair competition, and FUN. Join right in and explore our 13-acre campus with traditional Hyland and Hyla team games like:
• Capture the Flag
• Gold Rush
• Giant Sling Shot
• Human-Sized Hamster Balls

Carnival Games:

Feeling lucky? Step right up and try your hand with a variety of probability games and mind-bending action mazes, all designed and made by Hyla students as part of our integrated math, science and engineering curriculum. Play your hand, meet the student designers, and win prizes as you go!

Food:
Pick a spot under a fruit tree, in the field, or along the farmhouse porch to gather with friends and family and enjoy delicious lunchtime options from Kitsap County’s most popular food trucks serving:
• Taste of Peru
• Hot Diggity Dogs and Sausages
• Smooth-e
• Sweet Wheels Ice Cream Sandwiches
• Paps’s Mini Doughnuts

Admission to the event is free. Tickets for games are $1.00 per ticket. Most games average between 1-5 tickets.

Parking
Free parking is available across the street at the American Legion Hall.
