Hyla Stories
Breaking ground!
We are thrilled to share the exciting news that Hyla has broken ground on a new building! The next phase of our campus improvement plan is the construction of a multi-purpose building and we are on our way. To date we have raised $1M towards our $1.5M capital campaign goal: another exciting milestone.
From the very beginning, this project was about preparing Hyla for a strong future. Adding more classroom space was a primary goal. Never could we have imagined that extra square footage and improved air quality would become critical safety considerations. The extra space and new HVAC systems are essential components of our plans to safely re-open this fall with new social distancing and health protocols in place. New construction in all Hyla buildings gives us flexibility and options as we work to accommodate health and safety requirements in this challenging time.
It is always a joy to welcome crews from Carley Construction and Studio Hamlet Architects back to Hyla. Their care for this school runs deep and it shows in every inch of their work. Look for more pictures to be shared soon on Instagram and Facebook.
This new building is a true gift to Hyla. These scenes wouldn’t be possible without the profound generosity of so many Hyla families – current and alumni – who invested in our school for our students. This summer as we hear the sounds of construction and watch the crews shape the structure of our new building, we have gratitude, hope, and excitement for our community and our future.
