Generosity at Hyla
Learn together, grow together, give together
Generosity is a long-standing tradition at Hyla and a powerful force at our school. Every student experience is enhanced through philanthropy in direct and meaningful ways. We rely on generosity from our community every year to ensure that we can fully support our entire program and continue to be a leader in progressive education on Bainbridge Island, as well as an important educational option for local families.
The importance of giving at Hyla
Philanthropy at Hyla allows us to keep tuition as low as possible, recruit and retain top notch teachers, maintain and grow our campus, and ensure that tuition assistance is available every year. We carefully steward every gift and put it to use for our students and teachers in ways that align to mission, strategic vision, and school values.
ANNUAL FUND
Strength in community
The Hyla Annual Fund happens every fall and contributes unrestricted funds to our operating budget that help sustain our program year to year. The Annual Fund is a collaborative endeavor. It’s our chance to act on our core values, like cooperation, service, and inclusion. Everyone is invited to participate, every gift matters, and every dollar makes a difference. HYLA AUCTION
Party with a Purpose
The auction is a critical fundraiser for our operating budget that propels mission and strategic priorities. The auction is also a true reflection of our community: people, creativity, dedication, and generosity. There are two parts to our auction: we begin with an in-person gathering in our Community Hall to raise money and build community. Then the online auction is live for a week and people can give to the paddle call, bid on experiences, gift cards, getaways, teacher wishes, and more. Gifts to the auction can be made before June 30, 2024.

Support from all corners of our community
Hyla receives support from many groups including current parents, alumni parents, community members, grandparents, current and former faculty and staff, and our board of trustees – past and present. We are proud of this broad support and deeply grateful to our entire community for their generous support. We also receive support through the One Call for All red envelope campaign and applaud their work, which supports Bainbridge non-profits that in turn serve the whole community.
