We are thrilled to welcome Andrew Lovejoy to our faculty next year as PE teacher, Ultimate Frisbee and track coach, elective teacher and head of a clean crew! Andrew is a 1997 graduate of Hyla and a 2005 graduate of Carlton College.

It was a game-changing day when former Hyla teacher, David Evans, invited Andrew to join the Hyla frisbee team. After years of playing competitive Ultimate, Andrew began coaching youth Ultimate camps and coaching the Ultimate Frisbee team at Bainbridge High School. He has also taught at the Trillium School in Indianola. Andrew is very excited to join the Hyla faculty.

Andrew also plays the mandolin and sings, and we greatly look forward to his musical contributions to the elective program. Andrew and his wife, Kate, live in Indianola and were joined by their first child, Oliver, in June.
